| Clockwise, from Left: Darths Maul, Sidious, Vader, and Tyrannus. |
Yeah, sure, there are plenty of bad guys to go around. No one can argue that there is a dearth of Darths. There's Darth Maul, Darth Tyrannus (Count Dooku), the Darth Sidious(a.k.a.Evil Emperor; a.k.a. Senator Palpatine), and Anakin, who eventually becomes Darth Vader. (Hope we didn't spoil anything for anybody with that one.)

R2-Q5 aboard the Death Star. |
We even have to contend with the nefarious R2-Q5, the infamous astromech droid that gave in to the dark side. (His story isn't widely known, but it is safe to say he succumbed to the seductive attraction of being associated with the powerful weaponry of the Evil Empire, and decided that fame and glory were to be found serving aboard the Death Star.) He so admired Darth Vader that he had himself painted high gloss black.
And there are the good guys. There are the Jedi masters, like Qui-Gon Jinn (our personal favorite), Mace Windu, Obi-wan Kenobi, and eventually Luke Skywalker. And we can't forget the baddest good guy of them all, Yoda.
There
are hard fighting women like Padme Nabarrie, Leia Organna, and Zam Wesell. Okay,
we're not really sure if that was a woman or not. It looked like one, though.
There are the scoundrels, who are really good guys like Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. And there are the average, everyday punks, like Greedo and Jabba the Hutt. Everyone has heard of Sebulba dug, the pod pilot with less than admirable racing tactics. But little is known of Sebulba steve, another dark character in the villanous array of badness. One thing is known about him: he likes to criticize.

Epic battles, challenges of seemingly insurmountable proportions, and incredible duels all are met by the forces of good, fought in fantastic settings to save the universe from the clutches of evil and ultimately to restore balance to the force. And in the end, balance is restored. But who really pulls it off?
Who, more than anyone else, is responsible for getting the Universe back on track and calibrating the Force so that its balanced? Anakin? A lot of people think its him, but he's the guy that screwed it up in the first place, so why should he get any credit?
